1. What is eSTOP!?

eSTOP! was created to fill a need: the need to be able to cutoff an established
network connection (TCP**) between your computer and another computer without
dropping your network connection entirely. Why do you need to do that?
Simple answer. Sometimes things get out of control very quickly--like when
browsing the web.

eSTOP! was developed as a security product with the intent to (e)mergency STOP
problem TCP** connections like those above. It displays in real-time any TCP**
connection in or out of your computer. You can instantly stop that connection by
double clicking on the connection in the list or by pressing one of the three
large red buttons on the main window.

eSTOP! is not a firewall. eSTOP! complements a firewall because you can use it
to stop connections normally permitted by the firewall. You can make eSTOP!
popup whenever connections happen--then do something about those connections!

Give it a try. We hope it helps you feel more secure when browsing the internet.

Thanks!

**A TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) network connection is a reliable method
of delivering packets of data bytes between computers. It combines checksums
and sequencing to assure that packets are exchanged accurately in the correct
order. Web connections are an example of a TCP connection. eSTOP! does not
support UDP (User Datagram Protocol).
